On Friday at 11 am, @GovMurphy (manbaby/Goldman Sachs) will announce George Helmy as @SenatorMenendez's replacement in the U.S. Senate.

Helmy is not much of an improvement.

It's part of his prolonged temper tantrum because we didn't make @TammyMurphyNJ our new Senator.

1/15 In a year when @KamalaHarris & @TimWalz are on the ticket, and honesty, integrity, and everyday decency are the winning platform, @GovMurphy decided to go off-script.

He picked his ethically challenged former chief-of-staff to replace the ethically challenged Menendez.

So on July 16, New Jersey will have a special election to fill the congressional seat of the late Donald Payne Jr.

And this will be a low-turnout election. So if you live in NJ-10, go vote because your vote will matter.

Democrats have 11 candidates to choose from.

1/15 Information from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey%27s_10th_congressional_district Now, in a healthy democracy, a state party might work to let the candidates introduce themselves to voters so that voters can make an informed choice for themselves

But this is New Jersey, so the party bosses basically picked one and then gave voters their marching orders.

Yesterday at an undersold Essex County Democratic Fundraiser, LeRoy Jones complained about "internet trolls" who accused him of endorsing his son Amir for Essex County Sheriff because of nepotism.

He can sit right down with that nonsense. He has no one but himself to blame.

1/8
If LeRoy Jones wanted his son's endorsement to be above reproach, he needed to recuse himself from the nomination process.

That did not happen.

So the appearance of impropriety already exists, no matter how qualified Amir Jones might be.

So @GovMurphy it's not just that you told @NancySolomon2 that Essex County was one of the best run counties in America.

But you also said that @Joe_D_EssexExec "doesn't wear a political hat"

Which come on now, Gov. We both know that's a brazen lie. 🧵

I don't even know why you tell such a knuckleheaded falsehood about @Joe_D_EssexExec not being a political boss.

It is literally in his Wikipedia page, @GovMurphy.

So I am not a lawyer or any kind of expert, but here is the current situation with the @AndyKimNJ line lawsuit injunction as I understand it as of Monday morning April 1 (and this is not a joke).

A very long🧵 On Friday, United States District Judge Zahid Quraishi granted a preliminary injunction to eliminate the county line for the June primary.

He said that the county clerks would need to switch to a block ballot to ensure fairness. 2/24

Okay, @MikieSherrill, I was planning on doing @CoryBooker next, but the news about the line broke, and you're up.

You are a great example of how NJ corruption destroys fundamentally honest politicians.

And I am begging you to stop taking bad advice and trust yourself🧵 See @MikieSherrill, you and I knew each other before all of this. We met when Bridgegate broke.

We were both elementary school moms. We talked about Bridgegate in the hallway during a family night instead of sitting on the gym floor watching some movie with our kids. 2/22

So @CoryBooker, @MikieSherrill, @GovMurphy, other New Jersey politicians wondering why you aren't more prominent nationally--I'm going to explain it to you.

New Jersey corruption is holding you back.

As long as we have the line here, you'll always be second rate. 🧵 Most of you NJ politicians bought into the line to succeed, so you're loyal to it. You're loyal to the people who control it. They're your friends (I mean, they aren't, but...). It's all good, right?

You can't even see how it's dead-ending your careers.

So @NWPCNational, you must have thought I forgot. I promised you an objection to your endorsement of @TammyMurphyNJ's on feminist grounds, but it's been a little busy here in NJ with the ballot-rigging and the lawsuits against it.

Nonetheless, a promise is a promise. 🧵 Madeleine Albright said “There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

But she was unclear about what to do about it on this plane of existence. Because @TammyMurphyNJ's treatment towards other women hasn't been great.

We should talk about it. 2/12

In the New Jersey Barbie Universe, Camden County is the biggest Mojo Dojo Casa County of them all, & the head Ken is "Federal Indictment Ken", i.e. George Norcross

@TammyMurphyNJ "won" the Camden County Convention today. But there were no real winners. Certainly not democracy🧵 Image In the tradition of the finest banana republics, The Camden Democratic Committee started their convention off by refusing to let one of the candidates inside.

@Patricia4NJ was denied entry when five Kens blocked the door.

Because democracy need bouncers, amirite? 2/7 Image

So, in my first Somerset Democratic Convention thread, I talked about the very strange letter that chair Peg Schaffer sent to the delegates.

Now I'm going to talk about what Peg Schaffer describes as her non-existent conflict of interests with her support of @TammyMurphyNJ 🧵 In her interview with @danieljhan_, Peg Schaffer makes a claim that her support of @GovMurphy's wife's campaign is fine because there is "there is no quid pro quo"

I'm no lawyer, but do we just take her word on that? Is that how this usually works? 2/12

The Somerset Convention for the New Jersey Senate race is today, and there is a LOT to talk about here.

Peg Schaffer is supports @TammyMurphyNJ. And she seems to be saying and doing things that most county chairs would usually not want to be seen saying or doing, I think? This may take several thread (sorry about that).

But seriously, there's a crazy letter, conflicts of interest, the NJSEA (again!), reefer madness, a trip to Japan, raising hands like kindergartners to vote. I will try to get to it all.

But first the letter. 2/9

Some history: back before the @TammyMurphyNJ and @AndyKimNJ race, a man named Lou Stellato was the Bergen County Chair.

He resigned to become NJSEA chairman:

“If I’m going to be the chairman of the Sports and Exposition Authority, I don’t want the illusion of a conflict” 🧵 At that time, Vincent Prieto was the President and CEO of New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.

He'd been chair of the Hudson County Democrats, but left the position when he took the role at the NJSEA. 2/9

Let's talk about the Burlington Co Democratic Convention and @GovMurphy's abuse of elected office.

He's basically threatening the mayors, commissioners, & state senator @Troy4NJ7 who have endorsed @AndyKimNJ instead of @TammyMurphyNJ

This is going to bite @GovMurphy on the...🧵 So @AndyKimNJ should win Burlington. It's his home county and he's really popular.

He's been endorsed by 9 mayors, all 5 commissioners, and State Senator Troy Singleton (@Troy4NJ7) and other electeds-and good for them, because this is actually an act of political courage. 2/9

So that push poll released in support of @TammyMurphyNJ's Senate campaign makes me think she must really be worried about @AndyKimNJ.

The accusations made by her are Trumpian in that they are true of her and not @AndyKim 1/6 One accusation from the pro @TammyMurphyNJ push poll is that @AndyKimNJ "didn't live [in NJ] until he ran for congress" but "shopped around" for an easy seat to win".

Actually, @AndyKimNJ grew up in NJ.

@TammyMurphyNJ was born and raised in Virginia. 2/6

One more thing about @TammyMurphyNJ and her son scolding Essex activists about nepotism last Sunday.

They claimed no one can criticize Tammy for running on the line because Andy Kim did it to.

But Kim doesn't control the line. @GovMurphy does. And he is abusing his power (1/7) When @GovMurphy asks the county chairs to give the Senate line to his wife, they can't say no

He controls the budget. Their livelihood are in his hands. But that's our tax money and he should not use it to buy his wife a Senate seat

Andy Kim does not have this ability (2/7)
