it’s important to put this in perspective: at the time, everyone (except Natives) thought genocide of Ntv communities had utterly and completely worked

it was THE gold standard of genocide in the early 1900s in the 1920s / 30s Native populations were the lowest they’ve ever been or will ever be, the Indian Wars were over, everyone was on a rez, ntv food systems were devastated, and our culture was illegal
