Star Wars 1313 (cancelled in 2013)

The E3 2012 Reveal trailer took place in a ship plunging into a large "Underworld portal" giving access to level 1313, on Coruscant.

An open world game by @UbiMassive - the Swedish Ubisoft studio which made The Division 2 and is working on the next James Cameron's Avatar game for a while.
"Julian Gerighty, director of The Division 2 & The Crew, will serve as the game’s creative director". @UbiMassive EA's SW contract was due to end in 2023.

At last, the Switch is coming home.

I could try old LucasArts games I already have on PC, who knows. What a strange feeling to start from a platform (PC) with 1800 games and end up with a console and a single game (Animal Crossing, in bundle). Reminds me of when I had the NES, in another life ^^

To @MinnMaxShow , producer @zachulon again told this story of bad decisions made by EA (then)executives, who killed this very ambitious Star Wars game supervised by Amy Hennig (Uncharted).

A sad story. @MinnMaxShow @zachulon "The sequence of events was like - 'hey, we have a studio with their own engine who make really high quality single-player games - the Dead Space series - and we're going to take that studio, move them to Frostbite and have them make a Battlefield game'. OK, I'm fine with that."

There is Wedge Antilles in #StarWarsSquadrons , set after the events of Return of the Jedi.

The entire game will be playable in PSVR from beginning to end and will support crossplay across PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

It will be released on October 2, 2020. On Pc, it will also support VR, as the game is featuring first-person starship action.

@MitchyD (Battlefront II, 2017) and @Joanna_Berry (Star Wars: The Old Republic. , 2011) wrote the campaign (which should be a few hours long).

As promised, here is a thread. During my research, I obviously learned a lot about the creation of games that we all know... but also games that we DON'T know. Because, you know, never produced. 😅

Let's talk about the X-Wing flight sim series. Between 1993 and 1999, Lawrence Holland's Totally Games team created 4 games for LucasArts: X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter & X-Wing Alliance.

Then Secret Weapons Over Normandy in 2003.

We're waiting for a new X-Wing game for 21 years.

Star Wars 1313 (LucasArts, cancelled in 2013): Boba Fett chararacter design & Coruscant level 1313 world development by @designergus + work-in-progress scene.

In the last year of production (out of 4 or 5), George Lucas decided that Boba should be the protagonist of the game. @designergus Maybe not the best idea, or the most original, but this project had already gone through many upheavals since 2009. Including in its game design. Or its intertwining with the TV series (cancelled circa 2010) SW Underworld.

I have many things to tell about it, later in the year.

Thread: Some information you may not know about Jedi: Fallen Order.

Respawn's game will be the first SW narrative solo adventure since The Force Unleashed 2 (2010). That's almost 10 years. And this project deserves our full attention. Here's why. In May 2013, EA partnered with Disney to release Star Wars games from 2013 to 2023 exclusively.

On june 2014, Stig Asmussen (creative director for God of War III) has joined Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment for a mysterious project.
