Bear with me here. I’m 2001 I was visiting some Hawaiian friends and their families for New Years that year. I went early (as one does when they have friends who live somewhere nice) and one day we had a lunch with my friends grandmother and a friend of hers.
We go to a typical touristy type place and order lunch and grandmas friend proceeds to tell us we are perfect to work for him in this great new project he has. He says he needs more “young people who are good at computers.” Live in Hawaii? A solid job after the bubble just blew?
