If you wonder about the color filter in GBA NSO, here's the game with the filter, and then without the filter. Also with the LCD filter in the same order

It didn't bother me to explain emulation accuracy that way:
Accuracy gets important when you get to put games and the only GBA hacks I could see are more about anti-epilepsy, removing sleep mode, it's more about the features and things can still work as intended regardless. As for the N64 emulator the hacks are 70% more about accounting how bad the N64 emulator is and fixing the issues per game. That's how sad the N64 emulator is.

That said still fuck you Nintendo for not providing a way to do control remapping on at least N64, the rest I can manage fine but god the N64 PLEASE. Also let me set the stick sensitivity; it makes Goldeneye unplayable to me. I don't wanna buy the expensive N64 controller, I am still convinced every game can work just fine on a Pro Controller.

After messing around with GB NSO, I came to this conclusion:
All games are running on GBC mode including regular GB games. The screen filters are actually different rendering modes where it deliberately ignores the GBC color information. It does not emulate an original GB at all. I still think this is pretty smart though, as it does ensure full save state compatibility regardless of your settings.

The GBA Switch Online passes the AGS Test Suite with flying colors. Not a lot of GBA emulators actually do this.
I tried the mGBA Test Suite where it definitely fails a bunch but still passes a majority of tests. Image By the way you don't need to pass all the tests to make games playable, as I said, most emulators don't actually pass this.

And this is why the future of the 90s were always shit in concept compared to what the Internet actually did Seriously literally everyone behind Metaverse bullshit are just people who are stuck in the future of the past which, by the way, is SHIT lol

If there's anyone doing research about Nintendo's recent emulators, I could provide some information, while not heavily technical depending on which emulator, I have at least an idea of who developed them There's a video that got released today about Nintendo's emulation history. I personally think the video has lots of inaccuracies, but I can't necessarily blame the person because these are not infos you can easily find.

I don't need to talk environment to speak against the concept; I've done it before, but for the time being, it is still irresponsible how it takes too much power in this manner. But I could do a bit of a reminder of several reasons why I don't like cryptocurrency and NTFs:
- It's anti-privacy as fuck in its core.
Imagine if people knew what's in your bank account, and all the transactions you've made with it. That's honestly fucked up.

There's some interest about #Satellaview lately so quick thread.
Satellaview preservation for the past 21 years is basically this: Buying Memory Packs at random and hope it has something interesting by dumping it.
We don't check the contents because it's not reliable. I made a post about Satellaview dumping here if you wanna know:

Random overlooked fact: Satellaview service was FREE. Everyone assumed you needed a St. GIGA subscription because they had one, but in reality you really never had to subscribe to them to play Satellaview. The signal itself was descrambled when the Super Famicom Hour started.

My opinion about GTA Trilogy is this: They should have left the games as is. No graphical upgrades, just the original game in HD resolution. The only improvements I'm down with are purely about the interface: The wheel to choose weapons and stuff is honestly pretty cool. Also I remember seeing people going like "Switch cannot manage open worlds that's why it lags"
No, I'm pretty darn sure the Switch can run the trilogy at 60 FPS, they were PS2 games and if you make them run natively and adapted properly it should have been honestly perfect.

It's funny living with one less tooth. (Yeah that happened.) If you wonder how that happened I ate something that had a part where it was literally as solid as a rock... and I broke one of my teeth like that.

My opinion on N64 Switch Online is this:
- I don't necessarily expect the most accurate emulation, because N64 emulation is genuinely hard to do.
- However I expect an attempt that respects the original game so the fog and other graphical issues are frankly unacceptable. - Ocarina of Time seems to be an outlier overall in terms of emulation compared to the rest, but it's still unacceptable for such a game.
- Controller Pak emulation is a thing and they didn't use it. Save states are supposed to be an alternative, not the way to save for Winback.

Controller Pak emulation seems functional in N64 Switch Online so I don't get it, it just needs file management I believe... but when I looked even further I found out something else about it. They can literally make a combination of Controller Pak and Rumble Pak with some hacks, I don't see any addressing that actually conflicts with each other.

Anyway here's the thing I have to say about N64 Switch Online:
They have bothered to hack every game to run on their emulator with less issues (with more or less success), some with even more complicated hacks to pull. What this means is that the emulation team is actually actively reverse engineering games to fix issues with Lua scripts and other means...

One day before I datamine the shit out of the retro NSO apps Expect a system update as well, maybe 13.1.0 because the system doesn't have icons for N64 and Genesis (it does seemingly support them though)

Limited Run Games Wikipedia page: "The company, [...] was based on the preservation of video games"
NO. THEY'RE NOT DOING PRESERVATION. Just releasing LIMITED runs of physical games is NOT preservation. Physical games, while easier to preserve for longer spans of time, is still ephemere by all accounts, and while that means you can play your game regardless if the system is still alive or way past end of life...

So I randomly looked at NES NSO 2.0.0... the version that leaked SNES NSO and "EMULATOR_TYPE_HIYOKO". I decompiled the executable to see a little more... Gotta note that version was released in December 2019, so this is very very old and will not necessarily suggest the future of NSO. You have been warned.

I did it, for the first time. #NES #NintendoSwitch Image Now, my opinion on this game: I like it but it's highly flawed for many reasons:
I needed a walkthrough quite a couple times because NPCs just don't give enough hints and I really hate how some things are just randomly placed without any logic.
