Pro-nuclear and anti-nuclear people by and large do not live on the same factual plane.

What do I mean by that? 1/x There's this old adage "everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts"

Well, when it comes to nuclear power, things that *should* be basic facts that everybody can agree on are treated as contentious by large parts of society 2/x

Pikant allerdings: allem Anschein nach wurden Organisationen aus der “anti Atom“ Szene vorab Mails geschrieben, um sie einzuladen. Dachte bisher eigentlich immer, im BR gäbe es nur “schwarze Seilschaften“ aber allem Anschein nach gibt es inzwischen auch andere Lobbys, die “mit am Tisch“ sitzen... Ist ja schön, dass man inzwischen auch als “Grüner“ oder gar “Roter“ beim @BR_Presse Karriere machen kann...

Why does a "red green" (worker's movement and environmental movement) *seem* so self evident to so many, when it... Isn't? 1/x NB: this doesn't have to be an alliance between parties, it can be one between societal orgs or within a party (e.g. 🇺🇸 democrats who are red+green+lib+...) 2/x

A few weeks ago, our municipal government sent out advice "on what to do in case of long-term blackout" 1/x Which is fine and all (being prepared isn't a bad thing, altho *some* "preppers" are), but it would've been unthinkable a few years ago 2/x
