Back in the #FisheriesBill committee. Today Labour MPs will be seeking to protect a clause that would see more fish landed in UK ports. Bizarrely the Tories are arguing that more jobs should be created in foreign ports by not requiring fish caught in our waters to be landed here Image Conservative MPs now opposing Labour’s jobs in coastal communities amendment - bizarrely Tory MPs backing boats landing huge amounts of fish caught in our waters in foreign ports. The Conservatives are exporting jobs which is a clear betrayal of our coastal towns

MPs are now voting whether Parliament should have a vote on future trade deals. This amendment has been proposed by a Tory backbencher and I’m voting for it. Taking back control doesn’t mean unaccountable power held by Ministers. Government whipping against it. Ask yourself why? Government defeats amendment to give Parliamentary scrutiny over future trade bills by 263 to 326. So if a US trade deal undercuts British farmers our scope for defeating it just got a whole lot harder
