Yazi Gareth, I deliberately avoid commenting on things that involve @Rise_Mzansi for obvious reasons, avoiding being seen as double dipping which you so liberally do weekly given both your historical & current tacit involvement with the @Our_DA. But let me intervene ...1/many There is nothing that is: "Wit Gevaar" even though some have written on this, including Phillip Dexter in 2009, which I disagreed with even back then. The people who introduced a firm analysis of voters along racial lines include you - when the DA obsessed over Coloured voters.

My take away re: Green Hydrogen Summit is that the future will demand policymakers who have some niche expertise in multiple fields. The whole rethink on energy is extremely complex and we need public representatives who know the competing interests rather than being mesmerized. It appears to me that currently the tail is wagging the dog. Government is extremely behind in its thinking and commitments towards the future. The risk is industry and private interests dictating terms as we move forward. The policy environment is not robust enough...

[THREAD] What some media houses and some journalists are doing to Piet Rampedi amounts to a borderline malicious audit using the wrong sources, of which Rampedi never claimed to have consulted for his story. There are two emerging issues, a media crisis& government paralysis. The issue seems to have been how Rampedi's journalistic career trajectory has taken route. Do people change? Yes, for good or worse. But there is no evidence that Piet has changed for the absolute worst gutter as some are depicting him. Has he cracked great stories? Absolutely.

There's a R1000 maintenance tweet doing the rounds. It's not it per se I want to talk about but the conversation on it does trigger a lot of things in me& life in SA generally. The issue of low or nonexistent incomes in many households tends to escape us. We tend to view life only with our lenses of privilege or bias depending on our station in life. The reality for many rural &township households is extremely brutal in this country. There are still people who earn R1000 or less as a month's wage. They often do heavy manual labour

.@eNCA needs assistance to do its job at navigating the South African political landscape. Xoli &Jane got it wrong, had an excited moment based on warped opinion that put into question their political acumen. They appeared as thinking lazily etc. THIS IS NO REASON FOR SUSPENSION. What's more curious is that eNCA has not put across its full version of events. Were the statements by the duo scripted or not? Their delivery was so neat, it does beg suspicion. Then someone in the editorial team saw it fit that they apologize yesterday. Who wasn't satisfied?

When will we address the Pravin Gordhan mythology, exceptionalism or personality cult? It's been a curious phenomenon for me for some time now. Some now proclaim "I stand with PG" why really? Peter Bruce said he would take a bullet for him, Malema inverse version of kill for Zuma Pravin Gordhan was good buddies with Jacob Zuma 2009-2012/13 at least. He didn't mind serving the man. Generally I question any grown adult that truly believed in JZ. But for PG as was with others, Zuma was also a convenient stepping stone to prime time politics...

Dear Media

The claim by President Cyril Ramaphosa that he has cut down from 36 Ministries is false. Zuma had 35 Ministers. What Ranaphosa did was to split the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries two way. The manner it has been done gives the false impression that Agriculture (now at the DRDLR) and Forestry and Fisheries (now at Environmental Affairs) were two independent departments. They were not. They were under one Minister.
