Capcom removing the “erotica” points from Dead Rising is very cowardly. That game came out at the height of an era where tabloid rags and MTV were blasting the public with THE LATEST CELEB UPSKIRT SHOTS daily- the feeling of tawdry predatory invasiveness was a feature, not a bug I wish I could be surprised that the “of course video games are political!! They always were!!” crowd is mostly applauding one of the rare actual examples of a Japanese dev team making a pointed statement about American culture getting sandblasted away, but I am not.

Wonder if part of the reason things are generally more stale and uninventive is because the internet has provided a quick and easy resource for people to look back at the things that influenced them more directly, rather than going off their vague murky memories of them.

Back in the day people would grow up wishing they were able to see That Episode again- Flash Gordon, Twilight Zone, etc- Or maybe a play they saw and could never see again- that they would buckle down and create their own unique thing that gave them that feeling.

I would argue that what makes a video game "funny" relies far more on its presentation and mechanics than it does on dialogue or jokes. Oblivion is a great example of this GTAIV is another good example. Its jokes aren’t all painfully unfunny in the way that Borderlands is, but none of them are as humorous as the shenanigans that emerge during normal gameplay: the real humor isn’t the writing, it’s the Euphoria engine!

Don’t like how the BOTW DLC adds a bunch of new equipment to find, but none of it can be upgraded at all so you’re essentially handicapping yourself if you use any of them Especially this one, I really should be able to upgrade this one
