I thought I would let you Lovely People know how Mr Lumpy & Friends came to be. 17 years ago we moved into our new home, a new build, built on the footprint of an old mill, situated in a little village, but surrounded by conservation woodland and a grand old hall next door! My old cat Jack was 16 at the time and one night was having a hissy fit In the garden, when I opened the door to investigate to my shock it was a Badger! I had never seen a badger before and didn’t know anything about them. From that day on they had a well trodden run through the

For all the new followers 🙏
This is me the Nut Fairy 🧚‍♀️
I thought I would explain where my Love of wildlife came from.
I grew up in a little place called High Lane with fields and fields in front of the house. My playground was Middlewood which was a 2 minute walk from our front door. We spent all our time, me and my friends playing in the woods, catching newts, frogs, sticklebacks and releasing them, we would swim in the stream when the weather was very hot and had such fun on the rope swing across the stream to Dead Dogs Island!!😁 We would meet

Warning ⛔️ please don’t look at these pictures if you’re squeamish! These are just a few injuries that I’ve treated over the years. Mr Lumpy with his shoulder wound that opened up most winters and now his foot. Mrs Lumpy with a shoulder injury and a badly cut foot ImageImageImageImage where she lost one of her claws as well. Also Twinkle’s abscess which has thankfully healed. All these were treated with antibiotics, painkillers, Manuka honey, a good mix of special food, patience and a lot of worrying and love until they healed. So for anyone that ever says I

Yay we did it meet the Fern the Ferret.
So with the help of Tameside's People 4 Wildlife (who we raise funds for) we managed to trap the Ferret last night 😍
She had been living in a corner of the garden and she came back at the same time. The trap was ready and food on hand and just like that we got her. She’s a young female (Jill) and yes skinny. She went straight to the RSPCA to be checked over and now she’s at Greater Manchester Animal Hospital where they will care for her and try and find her owners (she wasn’t chipped). She will stay

A Statement from Derbyshire High Peak Badger Group as promised for all the naysayers and trolls still following Mr Lumpy & Friends 🙏

The Derbyshire Badger group has supported and advised the nut fairy for several years now with Mr Lumpy and the clan.
We work closely with… wildlife rescues and vets. We rehabilitate and care for injured badgers, adults and cubs.
This helps us all to come to the right decisions when dealing with injuries to badgers.
The expert advise is available to help the nut fairy in the care of Mr Lumpy and his family.

A quick update on Mr Lumpy he is no worse and the Nut Fairy is waiting up so he has his special
mix still every night. Derbyshire High Peak Badger Group will be making a post soon about the care that he is receiving due to the Nut Fairy still getting grief over his care… Yes I block and ban these people but then I get emails they search me out on other social media to troll
me and it’s so unfair. As always I’m
Doing my best with the help of the experts but my best obviously is not good enough for some people
