I get not wanting to vote for Biden. But when folks hear that & say what’s your alternative - that’s not a “gotcha” question. In a 2 party system, w hardly anyone engaged in real efforts to get 3rd party candidates that your ELDERS (who outvote youth) will vote for…
…on the ballot, a Biden loss means that by default, a Muslim Ban Republican wins. That will make the current situation in Palestine look like child’s play. Christian National repubs believe Palestine has to fall for Jesus to come back. Thats the alternative to a Biden loss.

Listening to @MadisonSiriusXM talk abt white ppl not wanting to feel guilt for their privilege really has me thinking. White privilege beneficiaries use guilt avoidance as a default policy position. “We can’t talk about race in a way that makes me feel guilty” underlines SO much.
As a kid, I foolishly believed guilt is a waste of emotion (usually after I’d gotten in trouble). That was b4 I was mature enough to know that guilt can be incredibly useful in helping us to examine the wrong things we’ve done/benefited from & hopefully move us to do/be better.

I asked @MadisonSiriusXM how bad things could get for Black people in light of the current white lash & attack on voting rights. He responded: "imagine asking that question in 1877." We can & may lose everything. Violently. Happened before & can again. How do we prepare for that?
Further complicating this question is that the majority of us DON'T KNOW how we lost everything* after Integration 1.0 (Reconstruction). Or how violently our "freedom" was taken from us in late 1800s-early 1900s. How do we prepare for a repeat of something we can't remember?

Our folks will get slammed by this covid Delta Variant. The news feels a bit like March/April 2020 again. But since White communities are far more vaccinated than Black/Brown communities…this country will keep it moving & even more readily ignore the next wave of trauma. 🥺🥺🥺
They’ll literally shrug their shoulders, say we should’ve gotten the vaccine & then we wouldn’t be so susceptible to the next covid wave. Social safety “nets” put into place during covid are ending & the low levels of support people relied up won’t be there during Delta’s peak.
