Having one writer prep, shoot, and post every episode of a season of television is unsustainable. It’s bad for the showrunner, it’s bad for the writing staff, and crucially, it’s bad for the show itself. For those of you lucky enough to know @adeleBlim, you know how much she brings to the table as a writer and a person. To be told that that’s not worth as much as a white guy is more than insulting. For the last few years, I’ve worked to get Asian and Asian-American stories on the screen—specifically, as broadcast network dramas. And I’m not the only one. @danieldaekim, @LisaCullen, @WHsuLeonard, and others have been banging on the door as well. To quote @everythinggloria: “The gig has more weight for POC. It’s not just telling stories. It’s trying to lift up the community.”
