Śrīman Madhvācārya in Tantrasārasaṅgraha gives us a definitive form of Lord Śiva to meditate upon as propounded (2)

This mantra definitely talks about Taptamudra.

Smruti & purana pramana state this mantra for Taptamudra.

Vruddhaharita-Smruti 2nd chapter
पवित्रं विततं ब्राह्मं प्रभोर्गात्रे तु धारितम् ।।३५
श्रुत्यैव चाङ्कयेद्गात्रे तद्ब्रह्मसमवाप्तये ।

By the Shruti, पवित्रं विततम्... one must be marked with Taptachakra. This enables one to attain Parabrahma. +

A circular came out on 2nd Nov, put out by the 'Hindu Religious institutions and Charitable Endowments Department' that initiated a ban on the practice of Mudradharana performed in temples. (1/n) The circular directed all temples under the management of the board that TaptaMudradharana, Jayanti celebrations, installation of idols & images which go against the āgama Sampradaya of the temple must be immediately stopped/removed.
