Almost all foreign members of ISIL-K and Al-Qaida have entered Afghanistan via Pakistan. Their leaders & that of the Taliban have been living (some dying/killed) in Pakistan. UN report undocs.org/S/2021/486 establishes the symbiotic ties between ISIL-K, Taliban & Al-Qaida. 1/7 According to the report the ISIL-K core group consists mainly of Afg & Pakistani nationals and a significant part of the leadership of Al-Qaida resides in the Pakistan & Afg border region. 2/7
