This is the reality of our New Year. It has been 10 Thanksgivings, 10 birthdays, 10 Christmases, 10 New Years Eves without our precious girl. Our married son lives in Texas and doesn't celebrate holidays much. We sit quietly on the days that others celebrate. We have
memories and photos and tears...lots and lots of tears. Gun violence shatters the body and continues to kill long, long after the bullets stop flying. I think of those who are "new" to this reality of violent grief and their reality of continuing to live without their loved one.

Everyone seems to have forgotten the Aurora Theater Shooting that happened 5 months before Sandy Hook. It took the life of my daughter and 12 others & wounded 70. Our shooter was begging to be stopped. His parents, school, psychiatrist & our society failed to stop him

Today, a Michigan high school was the site for yet another mass shooting at a school in the US. News reports state that the 15-year-old shooter used a semi-automatic handgun to fatally shoot three students and injure 6 others. CNN reports that 15 to 20 shots were fired. @Newtown

9 yrs ago tonight I went to bed in peace. I have not known peace since. At the midnight premier of The Dark Knight Rises our Jessi was slaughtered with 11 others. The killer easily bought his arsenal online without a background check. People KNEW (1)
