Currently at the "Our Scottish Future" event in Edinburgh, which is currently being met with anti-war and pro-Palestine activists who are saying "Gordon Brown has blood on his hands".

Awkward scenes for an event that's supposed to be positive. Will keep things updated. ImageImageImage Attendance is pretty much full, crowd has a decent mix of both older and younger folk. Though interestingly all the younger folk are very much men, very few young women? Image

🌹 The smelly SNP and Greens are saying Labour are hypocrites when it comes to the issue of transparency, democracy and accountability.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ These separatists don't know what they're talking about, so here are key examples of Labour setting high standards.

🧡 A thread... Labour made it clear the SNP are SECRETIVE when it comes to hiding their membership numbers, even if they've released them publicly.

What's our membership numbers in Scotland? Erm... well apart from a leak a few years ago I'm afraid that's confidential.

🌹 The snats on Twitter keep complaining that Labour's links to the Orange Order are deeply problematic.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ But Labour is proud of its British heritage and won't hide who our friends. So here's why the Orange Order are not a fascist cult.

🧡 A thread... First, it is FAKE NEWS to say that anti-sectarian groups like @Call_It_Out_ have condemned the Labour party. They definitely did not say that the "Labour Party can no longer speak credibly on bigotry, hatred and inequality."

Please ignore this fake news.

🌹 A Labour government is just around the corner, and REAL change is coming for the UK!

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Here is a list of just some of Labour's policies under the fresh leader of Keir Starmer - a real alternative to the Conservatives.

😊 A thread... 1) Keeping anti-protest laws

A radical and progressive Labour government will ensure the people cannot loudly complain about us.

It's thanks to the hard work of Conservative colleagues this legislation works today!

This is a lie. When countries wish to join the EU, they need to meet the criteria set out in the chapters of the acquis. There is no specific deficit requirement within these chapters. A short 🧡 Croatia joined the EU in 2013, consistently running government deficits above 3%/GDP, including the year it joined. Cyprus joined the EU in 2004, a deficit to GDP of 3.7%, and the year prior at 5.9%. Hungary (2004) consistently ran a deficit above 3% to GDP between 2001 to 2011.

Many people, rightly so, pointing out @agcolehamilton misogynistic undertones with this tweet. Of course this would not be the first time he's done this.

Here's a short thread on Alex Cole-Hamilton. 🧡 There was the time @agcolehamilton told @MareeToddMSP to "f*ck off" simply because he didn't like the answer he received, and then went on to partly blame Maree for his own language.
