I was recently told that I need to be "liberated" from thinking that covid is still dangerous to my high risk family and worth masking for. I reflected on this, and realized it's the other way around.

Masking brings me many kinds of liberty I never had pre-pandemic... 1/6 Liberty from all illness; haven't even had a standard stuffy nose type cold since 2022. It's awesome.

I'm a professor. I teach in a mask. First video I am in a 3M Aura, second in a clear-front Omnimask with a mic attached, third is Omnimask with a speech diaphragm modification plus the mic. Take a quick listen to each: 1/

The Aura, and the amplified Omnimask with a speech diaphragm, are both clear, but the Omnimask alone sounds muffled even with the mic due to the exhalation valve. How to fix this? 2/
