I had never heard of a postmortem until I started building software.

Now I do them at least once a month 🤓

They let you objectively look at all the facts of a situation, identify what went wrong, and what can be done better next time.

1/ Quitting my job was the best decision I ever made. For years, I had an itch. I wanted to leave my job at a big company, wanted to be independent and creative, but I was too scared to make a move. The work was interesting and I was paid well. 2/ I loved the people I worked with, and I was learning. Which is why I questioned my itch to leave and didn’t act on it for three years. This week, I’m launching @usefyi with @hnshah, something I never would have done had I stayed at my job and not listened to my gut.
