The real catalyst that ended 500 years of Western European + US dominance was the Ukraine war.
I argued this back in my Dec 17, 2023 thread after it started — and every month since has proven it right. 👉
Image From 1492 onward, Western Europeans (then the USA) ruled the world: colonialism, gunboats, industrial power, then after 1991 the unipolar moment with 800+ military bases, the dollar as world currency, and control over IMF/World Bank.

I am in no doubt about where we stand in our Western countries. We do not live in a democracy, as we are led to believe. We live in an oligarchy. This is a system in which there is a thin upper class of elites who basically control the vast majority of people. This is nothing new. In ancient Greece, Aristotle did an excellent job of analysing how such a system works and what it looks like:
