This week I've seen some stuff related to Support that's made me 🤨. Here's my decades worth of knowledge packed into some do's and don't for support, framed up for the leadership level.
1. Support rarely reports directly into the CEO (even though it should). Here’s the outcomes by each VP:
Finance = cost center
Sales = lead farm
Product / Eng = feedback farm
HR = farm team for internal recruiting
Success = content farm
Marketing = just don't do it

Thought I'd share out some lessons I've learned as a leader over these last years. Guess you could call these my leadership principles. Enjoy 🙂
1/ Earn the trust of your staff, trust them in return and empower them to make decisions.
2/ Empathy is a crucial attribute of leadership.
