Some thoughts on this election policy, from someone interested in the public service. (Caveat: I don't have any professional opinions, but in the past I *had* to express opinions, so in these tweets I'm reflecting on stuff I wrote before I became a public-sector employee.) 1. Restoring public service jobs to 2012 levels is kind of bizarre. What was so magical about 2012? It's as strange as the Coalition capping the govt workforce at 2007 levels. Some deets on the cause of #CanberraFires. An army troop transport helicopter like this one, an MHR90, used a strong landing light during a reconnaisance mission.
The light was necessary to help it land safely in the smoky conditions. But it created enough heat to ignore the grass underneath it.
