The just concluded parliament session clearly belonged to @RahulGandhi . Setting an aggressive tone right from the word go, he has demonstrated to the side opposite that he remains unafraid of their so called power. He has shown the willingness to

One of my sisters gifted me this lovely series of books on Karamveer Bhaurao Patil - by Barrister P.G.Patil.
Sharing a small excerpt from the same on the naming of the institution he founded.

Why the Rayat?
The annual conference of the Satya Shodhak Samaj was held at Kale, Image about 8 miles to the west of Karad, in 1919, under the presidentship of the veteran Satya Samajist leader Advocate Keshavrao Bagde. few years ago, I was at high street, Baner - stopped for a snack at McD. saw this lady security guard having her lunch quietly, glancing into the stores around her; wistfully staring at the cloudless sky - events at Barsu reminded me of these lines, added a few, read on

what does she feel, standing guard
in a mcdonalds
waiting for the promised future,
that they had bartered her land for.

no “4 bangle” car awaits her,
no gold adorns her neck and wrists,
avoiding the mistakes her neighbors made,
she waits stoically

a notion of development which is not acceptable to the people it purports to be for, should be discarded. any idea which is not in synch with nature should be let go of. people who are revered as gods during election suddenly are looked as not knowing what is good for them
1/n Image this picture is so symbolic of how the present day administration treats its citizens/voters. Like subjects. Like slaves who have to do their bidding at all times. once in 5 years all they have to do is press the right button - sometimes even that is not required.

this project needs to be stopped before Konkan becomes just another sepia tinted memory. Everyone who has visited this beautiful place, paused for a while, soaked in its fantastic views and relished some fabulous food, needs to support the agitation.

united they stand, their voice needs to be amplified, this beautiful part of our great state needs to be preserved. administration is resorting to its notices on the doors, nocturnal visits, stoppage of assembly. more tricks will follow.

most nights now
somewhere in between
REM, deep and light stages
na, it’s not you may think
no demons on my tail
no surge of any desire
its just me

Avanti was born on 25.11.08. I remember she was kinda pink, bathed in some kind of greenish liquid and extremely beautiful. It is a moment that stays with every parent I guess; the first time you see your child.
1/11 The next day began on a normal Mumbai note, as cold as it can get in November, nothing out of the ordinary in terms of traffic. I remember spending the day in hospital meeting people who had dropped in to wish us well and say hello to Avanti.

Dawn at Shiroda

softly
filtering through the trees

a leaf breaks free

others join in

an impromptu trip

Thread time - reproducing an article from Shankar's Weekly. #RememberingNehru

Jawaharlal Nehru must have been naughty as a boy; obstinate, perplexed, chivalrous and cheerful. He did not change. If he were not a political leader or PM, he would have discovered India more,

written more books and gathered more royalties. If he were not writing books, he would have kept himself busy, swapping flies and catching butterflies. They came in endless succession, from morning till late in the night. The more he swapped the flies, the more they came
