I like history and the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism but mostly I talk about life in the empire.

The other "funny" thing about the airline stock shorts before 9/11 is that originally news media and investigative reports acknowledged it and speculated it was proof that bin Laden was "the ultimate insider trader" before realizing he wasn't involved in the trades and burying it CBS reported it on the evening news as a trade imbalance like they "had never see before" and it was suggested that "bin Laden was using foreknowledge of the attacks to fund further operations." Until they investigated who made the trades and went "Oops, just a coincidence 😀"

Parsing a trendline wrt the latest Google news. 1) Around the 80s/90s the process of enclosing outside world really kicks off. Third places are destroyed, there's nowhere to hang out in public, "bowling alone" etc. The death spiral for many irl communities begins. 2) The outside world is replaced by the inside world of the internet, cell phones, nonstop distractions. At first this seems like a new frontier. It's quickly enclosed by tech companies with teams of marketing psychologists deliberately trying to addict you to their platforms.

Democrat fundraising emails look identical in form, content, and presentation to generic email scams because the target demographic is pretty much the same. These are politically sanctioned scams that deliberately prey on the elderly. And yes - it's deliberate. They blast these histrionic emails and texts because it tricks older, less internet/media savvy people and it scams those people into lining the pockets of consultants and politicians who couldn't care less about who they're robbing.

I don't understand why every time there's a protest in a foreign country everyone in the US feels compelled to signal they "stand in solidarity." You just learned about a massively complicated situation a few days ago. Do you know anything that wasn't told to you by someone else? I mean, I *do* know why the media and influencers boost protests in nations the US wants to destabilize, and then berate you for not joining the chorus. I just don't get why so many people feel like they have to play along.

I'm guessing most people have seen by now the video of the Canadian man who is so scared of being forced into homelessness that he's choosing death instead. I can't get over how plainly he says "I don't want to die" but the doctors sign his death slip anyway. This is what capitalism does to the disabled, the poor, the people who can no longer produce profits for the privileged few. You will be discarded with the dignity of yesterday's garbage the moment you become unproductive. The lifeboat is shrinking and you're not on it.

"I'm scared of driving through the South"

"Blue states should stop giving money to red/Southern states"

"The US would be better off if we got rid of the South"

Now, what do you mean by that? Image My feelings are complicated. I get why some people hate the South. But what fascinates me is how often these asinine regionalist takes buy into a mindset that reinforces local power structures, class hierarchy, and racial oppression in ways that thrill the local KKK & oppressors.

If you read Pentagon reports (many are openly published) then you already know "megacities/urban unrest" are a top 3 threat factor for the military and you also know one of the "risks" involved is that US soldiers may not obey orders to shoot US civilians. Neat solution!

Everyone took one look at Black Hammer last year and figured this was the inevitable outcome but it's still tragic that it happened and that someone had to lose their life for it. My thoughts are with the victim of the cult and that investigation will reveal the enablers, whoever they might have been.

The most frustrating part about debunking US regime change disinfo campaigns is that you can't win. US lies don't matter. If the lie doesn't work they just move on to the next one and trust no one will remember or hold it against them The coup in Bolivia was bolstered by the entire media class falsely claiming the 2019 election was a fraud. Did it matter this was a lie? That the Bolivian coup usurpers killed people in the streets while the propagandists cheered? No. Once the lie became untenable they moved on

Big accounts using fake images of Egypt and Argentina to pretend the Cuban protests are way bigger than they are. It's demeaning to even call what's going on social media re: Cuba a disinfo campaign because you can *see* the flags of other nations in these tweets Weird that after four years of hysteria about fake news and social media disinfo, all the usual suspects have zero interest in calling out blatant + verifiable lies from accounts with 90k followers.
