I just spent 1 hour speaking w a woman who was recently released from Grand Valley. I don't know who she is, but she knew I was the person she was supposed to contact about the trans issue in prison

She verified everything I have been saying. 1 There are a lot of physical altercations on compound between women & tw.

The women are reported as saying "we are literally fighting men we have to resort to using weapons so we don't get hurt. They are talking about putting soup cans in socks." 2

I have been receiving a ridiculous amount of phone calls from women in Grand Valley Prison for Women in Kitchener, Ontario regarding Angela Valentino who was transferred there after they released Steve Mehlenbacher on bail for a sexual assault charge.

Thread Angela beat up Steve in Edmonton & CSC couldn't have them both @ GVI together. They sent Steve to a halfway house in Quebec & grabbed Angela from Joilette prison for women in Quebec and transferred to GVI.

Angela told the women at GVI that Steve got beat up for being a rapist.

There were 458 dangerous offenders as of April 2011 in Canada.

Guess how many of those were female?!

Hint: under 5

I know of 5 dangerous offenders off the top of my head who identify as women right now. Jatin Patel killed a trans prostitute & then sexually assaulted a 13 y/o girl. The courts deemed this man a dangerous offender.

Now fast forward

A woman is asking that her dangerous offender status and indeterminate sentence be removed from her.

A list of things I did in jail/prison to pass the months/year. Read books, write out recipes, journal, play cards, board games, talk on the phone, listen to music, watch TV, cook, bake, walk laps, clean, write letters. Those were the only options available. (1) Jail I didnt have all those options. If i could survive inside doing only those things so can you. Feeling powerless, loss of control? You learn to deal with it. There is nothing you can do. So either make your time harder or learn to let it go. (2)

Since I've been MIA I'll leave you a media journal instead of a normal journal. Journals help with my recovery because it's a way to stay accountable. Journals are good cuz they hold feelings. Feelings are important. They teach us many things about ourselves. We learn what (1) Triggers us, what our short comings are. They fucking show us what is important. I recently found my step 10 book(NA) & my journal book to my son & daughter from prison. Let me tell you. Those journals are raw. I had to put them back in the closet. (2)

Grievance filed at Grand Valley Institution in Kitchener, On against Harks. CSC cited Bill C-16 failed to give a comment. Refused to engage in a review of impacts of policy against women.
