In Court for Prince Harry v Mirror Group:
- Duke of Sussex flew from LA last night and give evidence on Tuesday as opening will take 3 hours, the court heard
- Justice Fancourt states "surprise" the Duke is not to give evidence today "in light of direction at earlier stage". mfls Andrew Green KC, for Mirror Group, wants day and half to cross examine the Duke of Sussex and believed witnesses were to be available today. Told court its "deeply troubling" if the Duke was restricted to one day in the witness box. Justice Fancourt says it can run to Wednesday

New: Buckingham Palace spokesman: “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.” Prince Charles and Camilla have arrived at the Balmoral estate. Prince William is on his way, the palace have said.

At Harry v Home Office: The Duke’s legal team today are appealing decision to strip his taxpayer-funded security in February 2020 citing ‘procedural unfairness’ saying he had no ‘direct representation’ in the ruling. In its skeleton argument his lawyers say Harry was “not given any or any proper opportunity to make informed representation”. They say he has been “materially prejudiced (among other things) because his offer to pay was not conveyed to RAVEC before the decision was made”

Strong words from Home Office in response to Harry's claims he would fund private security. In documents handed to the court, the Home Office states Harry did not offer private funding when he returned in June 2021 or "any of the pre-action correspondence which followed". The Home Office docs also say government "attributed to the Claimant a form of exceptional status whereby he is considered for personal protection security by police with precise arrangements being dependent on the reason for his presence in Great Britain" on "case-by-case" basis

Justice Swift has told the court Prince Harry is challenging the 'legality of a decision made in February 2020 concerning the arrangements for protection of him and his family when in the UK'. Parts of the application today will be confidential. Shaheed Fatima, for Harry, says 'the claimant does not feel safe when he comes to the UK' adding, 'it goes without saying he does want to come back and see family and friends and support charities that are so close to his heart. Most of all this will always be his home'.
