Weeks before Biden boosted it with a virtual tour, the electric battery company hired a pair of Obama administration alums to lobby the White House for funding, amplifying its already concerning political connections to the Biden administration.
According to disclosure forms first reported here, Proterra brought on Boundary Stone Partners on April 1 to push the admin for increased funding of clean energy infrastructure projects, including "electrification" of mass transportation vehicles.
The Biden admin has repeatedly touted multiple companies tied to @ce4america members. The org is "a mechanism for well-connected green tech investors to twist arms at the White House in search of a profit."
"Despite scrutiny of your Proterra, Inc. holdings during your Senate confirmation hearing and by media reports, the White House still decided to promote the company with a presidential event," @RepRalphNorman wrote.
"You have spent much of your time as Secretary of DOE actively pushing a public relations campaign to endorse electric vehicles, batteries and charging infrastructure. I want to ensure that you are...not using your position to profit financially."
Biden's visit has the potential to be "even worse than Solyndra," the solar panel company that infamously went bankrupt after receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in government-backed loans from the Obama admin.
The Obama admin's promotion of Solyndra resembles the treatment of Proterra, Biden visited, and @KamalaHarris visited one of its partners, @ThomasBuiltBus. Biden predicted companies like Proterra will "end up owning the future."
@HSESchools, a public school in a deep red Indiana county, hosted an LGBTQ+ allyship event during which @holder4hse said kids as young as 4th grade have "experimented with anal sex," infuriating parents
"This radical push reached the federal level this week, as the Biden administration on Monday proposed a rule that would dole out @usedgov grant money to education groups that develop antiracist American history and civics curriculum."
Accepting $$$ from one of the biggest dark money donors in world history complicates @SenateDems push for the For the People Act, which they argue prevents orgs, like George Soros's Democracy Alliance, to spend millions without disclosure.
Both @NGPVAN and @AmalgamatedBank remain in business with the Lincoln Project, despite questions about the group's rapacious finances and the lengths to which its founding members went to protect a serial sex predator.
Why does it matter? According to @CBSNews's piece on #FLGOV@RonDeSantisFL: "Distributing vaccines is lucrative. Under federal guidelines, @Publix, like any other private company, can charge Medicare $40 a shot to administer the vaccine."
