1/ Today, I announced several policies as part of the District’s re-imagination of public space during the ongoing coronavirus public health emergency, including the buildout of “streateries.”
2/ Streateries expand beyond individual parking lane uses and close one or more lanes of an entire block or more to vehicle traffic to allow for outdoor dining and table service.

1/ Today, I launched 10 weekday grocery distribution sites at DC schools to help families access meals and other resources during the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency. 2/ The grocery distribution sites are being launched in partnership with @MarthasTableorg and DC Central Kitchen. They're available to all families and are open Monday – Friday, 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

1/ Starting this week, the @NatlParkService and the United States Park Police (USPP) will close Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park and roads in Anacostia Park and Fort Dupont Park to vehicle traffic so that residents can access these roads for essential exercise.
2/ Beach Drive, which is already closed to traffic on the weekends, will keep closures through April 30. The USPP and NPS staff will monitor park use as well as guest compliance with social distancing. Some parking areas may temporarily close as needed to minimize congestion.

1/ On the first day of distance learning at DC's public schools, I'm announcing a new DC Education Equity Fund. It'll be used to increase access to internet and purchase digital devices. Residents can learn more about the Fund and how to give at dcedequity.org.
