We’re going into week 2 of the election and still no policy from either major party on how to make housing more affordable.

It’s so interesting: I keep hearing that “2/3 of Australians are home owners so nothing will ever change”. 🏡🏡🏡 I’m a home owner/mortgage slave in a suburb I’m relatively happy in. Very lucky.

I’d be quite happy to take a hit for a few years if it meant more people could get into the market.

So would many, many other home owners I know.

I did a housing shortage and affordability policy for you. Here it is, and you're welcome: 1. No one needs more than one house, but we're a generous lot here in Australia, so you can have two.

So, negative gearing can only apply to ONE investment property. You're on your own with the rest.

On podcasts moving to Spotify:

I find that after initially going to Spotify and subscribing, I simply forget the podcast is there as I don’t think to listen to pods on Spotify, still.

Hence, haven’t really listened to Armchair Expert since it moved there. Totally forget it exists until I see something on the socials.

My sister has had this same experience which leads me to think many listeners have, from this sample size of two.
