Single-use disposal supplies make up a huge portion of healthcare’s carbon footprint (more than aviation). Evidence shows they aren’t safer for pts; some studies show the facade of safety makes them worse … Image Culture, industry & @TJCommission have driven us to dispose of everything. But it’s expensive. This study showed 13% of supply costs for just one service line, $2.9m, were thrown away unused. That percentage is more than CMS cuts adjusted for inflation. Image
