The #KarnatakaElectionResults reminds me of few things @jsaideepak said at Karnavati Literature & Film Festival -
Thread 🧵

1. Our destinies, our interest, our Hindu Hith, everything is tied to one political option, which was not the case in 50s, 60s and 70s because cultural organisations were equally investing on the Congress and on the BJP at that time. That is the strategy of other communities and it makes sense because whoever comes to power, the 1st thing they say is "Hum Minorities ke liye itna pesa dete hai". Everybody is forced to say that.

"Nehruvian Secularism vs. Secularism in Modern West" as per Shri Sita Ram Goel: 🧵

Secularism is essentially a political concept which originated & took shape in 19th century Europe. It had symbolised a humanist & rationalist revolt against the closed creed of Christianity. The secular power of the State was no longer to be the secular arm of the Church. It was to become secular on its own, that is, a power which secured equal rights to all its citizens without bothering about their beliefs.

Vedic Traditions vs Biblical Traditions: Short 🧵

"The Vedic tradition advises people to be busy with themselves, that is their own moral and spiritual improvement. Several disciplines have been evolved for this purpose: tapas(austerity), yoga(meditation), jñāna(reflection), Image bhakti(devotion) etc. A seeker can take to (adhikāra) whichever discipline suits his adhāra (stage of moral-spiritual preparation).
