After my tweet yesterday, many have rightfully asked what I would have done. For starters, I'd have followed the May 2021 PM Trudeau principle: "We're not a country that makes vaccines mandatory."
He and I are both pro-vaccine, and, at the time, were both anti-mandate. 🧵(1/14)
We wouldn't be where we are if that hadn't changed during the election campaign. It made for a great political wedge. I've never seen a more angry, divided electorate in my 6 campaigns. The Liberal campaign was energized by the issue, but it was a terribly divisive policy. (2/14)
