I’m not watching the inauguration. My son is off school for MLK Day, and other than a few emails and a TV hit, I’m spending the day with him.
I’m not going to let these people rob me of any ounce of joy during these four years. I’m going to fight, but not at the expense of my health and my family.
I encourage you to do the same. We have a lot of work ahead to stop the worst of what’s coming and to elect more and better Democrats who can help us take back Congress, the White House, and legislatures nationwide. But each of us needs to prioritize protecting our health and our families first.

Let’s start with what it’s NOT 🔽
The DNC Chair is not a solution to every problem the party faces.
❌ They don’t pick candidates or control primaries.
❌ They don’t set policy for the party.
❌ They don’t write laws or change election rules.

I just listened to the Pod Save America episode with VP Harris' leadership team, reflecting on what went wrong in the 2024 presidential election. Here are some quick thoughts on what stood out to me. 🧵
First, they talked about Harris not wanting to differentiate herself from Biden. Her loyalty to him is admirable, and I appreciate it deeply. But in a change election, that likely cost her more voters than it gained.
