Today's indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States. I will have more to say about the government’s case after reviewing the indictment. The former president is entitled to the presumption of innocence but with this indictment, his candidacy means more talk about January 6th and more distractions.

Under our administration, the border was secure! But in just two years, the Biden Administration has turned the most secure border in history, to the worst border crisis in history. I was proud to negotiate the Remain in Mexico policy with Secretary Pompeo which required asylum seekers to wait outside the US while their asylum claims were pending.

Today, Life Won. By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court of the United States has given the American people a new beginning for life and I commend the Justices in the majority for having the courage of their convictions. By returning the question of abortion to the states and the people, this Supreme Court has righted a historic wrong, and reaffirmed to right of the American people to govern themselves at the state level in a manner consistent with their values and aspirations.
