New Jerseyans are bearing the brunt of failures by our grid operator, PJM. And today, we found out they’re raising rates again.

PJM, the grid operator for 65 million people across 13 states, holds an auction to set utility rates New Jersey families will pay the following year. Auction prices are determined by supply and demand for energy on our grid. As demand for energy has surged, it’s more critical than ever that we have enough energy supply on our grid to lower utility prices. 2/13

I visited Delaney Hall this morning and I want to tell you about where we stand, why this moment is so dangerous, and why I’m so strongly opposed to private, for-profit prisons and detention centers. 1/10
If you’re not familiar, Delaney Hall is a private detention facility, owned by the GEO Group, one of the largest private prison companies in the nation. It was recently reopened under a contract with ICE to serve as an immigrant detention facility. 2/10
