The reality of the moment is far more powerful actually

Everything could've ended orderly, the crowd actively welcomed the promised salary raises, but they got scared and ordered a hasty emptying of the crowds, that they bussed in But the police, gandarmerie, militia...etc ended up pushing from multiple sides and causing a huge panic, and anger, among the crowd. And most vital the morons ended up pushing the crowds away from the busses they brought them in with.

The idiotic idea to "boycott" Austria keeps gaining publicity as various populists and personalities decide to cash in on easy patriotic PR stunts.

Again this isn't about state policy or trade relations but calls on average and random citizenry to do it This is the most empty of feels good posturing, and it'll actually harm the probability of serious state policy to pressure Austria. It's the passing of responsibility as always.

The need of a proper gov implemented policy replaced with pointless patriotic virtue signaling

That's not what happened in Romania. Yes the entire system received a de facto amnesty but it did concede on democracy and political rights.

The opposition likes to argue Iliescu was a pseudo-dictator but truth is he won the elections more or less fairly The opposition was non-existent for over 5 decades at that point, led by octogenarians freed from jails or returned from exile, it was deeply out of touch with the country.

30 years ago Romanians learn that democracy will not be easy to achieve

Following mass protest against his rule, in which the secret police stage violence, Iliescu declares a fascist coup is underway and calls on people to come to Bucharest to defend democracy Meanwhile from the Jiul valley, in my home provinces, trains filled with thousands of miners leave for Bucharest. The armies chain of command was broken and many units fully deserted in the final days of the revolution, so Iliescu needs someone else to crackdown on protests

This is the lawyer of Radu Mazare, former mayor of Constanta, who is now in jail after he was found guilty of taking bribes. (I don't really have a deeper point to make about Romanian society or anything, just wanted to tweet the pic)

Decided to make a thread about the EP elections in Romania, a brief overview of the political situation here.
I know most of you will keep an eye on UK/France..etc be we are the 7th biggest EU country and have more MEPs than the Netherlands so the results here matter quite a bit On the 26th we'll vote here not only for the EP but also on a referendum on "justice", a bit more of that later.
Don't really know how to start so i'll do a somewhat more detailed look at the political parties, their views, leaders....etc

Depopulation is the goal. That's why civil infrastructure from electrical grids to medical centers are targeted This is not done by chance, its a well calculated attack, Idlib will either submit or become an unlivable wasteland

29 years ago the Romanian revolution begins in the western city of Timisoara. It would spread in a week in all the country and in less than 2 it would bring down the most brutal communist regime in E.Europe "Today in Timisoara, tomorrow in all the country".
Dozens in the city would die for demanding freedom, when the army entered the city, the following day
