The bullet bounced off the animal, hit a wall, traveled through the door of his mother-in-law’s home and the recliner in which she was sitting, hitting her. She survived. 2. In December 1963, while spearfishing off Australia's southern coast, Rodney Fox was attacked by a Great White Shark, suffering severe injuries including a punctured diaphragm, torn lung, pierced scapula, and exposed abdomen and organs. Rescuers left his wetsuit intact to keep his organs from spilling out. After four hours of surgery and 462 stitches, Fox survived one of the most severe non-fatal shark attacks in history.
