love it when i talk about internalized ableism and people reply to me to tell me to not assume everything is internalized ableism by giving their own examples of clearly internalized ableism
also the number of people who tell you to your gatdang face they they’re “afraid of being in a wheelchair” is INNUMERABLE. bitch, not only am i faster than you, i can roll over every single one of your toes for being rude 🖕🏻

sweet fuck, there are very few things as stressful as a full on dysautonomia/POTS attack. heart rate shoots up, blood pressure slides precipitously low. dizzy, hard to talk, whole body feels heavy, breathing is hard.
it’s like your blood sugar tanks the lowest it’s ever possibly been AND you’re completely full body fatigue exhausted AND your blood pressure flatlines

one of our local synagogues installed a free little pantry in our yard & filled it for the neighborhood to take advantage of—we’re within walking distance of a school, so hopefully lots of humans will be able to avail themselves of the offerings.
we’d like to build a free little library beside it, but with d’s job situation currently in limbo, we can’t throw $200 at materials right now. if you’re interested in donating, you can venmo or paypal me, just leave a note that it’s for the FLL!
DID YOU ALSO KNOW a 1980 study found that after insemination, semen is stored in "crypts" in the cervix & live sperm was found up to the 9th day after insemination, suggesting that the cervix serves as a sperm reservoir from which viable sperm are gradually released...
...which has major implications for things like the idea of a restricted "fertile window" in the menstrual cycle based on the idea that sperm survive only two days AND also drastically changes ideas around "natural" methods of birth control.

my sweet incarcerated penpal asked if i’d help him buy some art supplies. he was going to pay, but i’d love to surprise him by paying for & upgrading him to better quality materials. he was going to buy $50 worth, but i’d like to raise $100. i’ll cover $20, can anyone help? DM me
we’ve got $40 covered so far! i can do paypal or venmo. venmo is same username.
so i remain on facebook because i'm involved in some local groups which, because i'm in south florida, frequently reek of fascism. when they start posting bullshit, especially cruelty, instead of rebutting it, i've started asking them to explain the joke to me. they fkn hate it.
"sorry scott i don't get the joke could you explain it to me" they stay busy for so long and you get to just keep asking them to explain the joke

hello.
if you are currently thinking about planning for your possible death & you want to ensure someone handles your funeral arrangements who is NOT your current legal next of kin, you need a durable power of attorney for healthcare, NOT a will.
a will CAN do what you want it to do, but it’s more complicated in the long term & handles more than specifying who handles your funeral arrangements.

alright, had some humans who wanted to know what was in our emergency prep kits so here we go. linking to what i bought through amazon because they delivered and it made my life easier, i know amazon is the devil, etc etc etc
here's the basic black backpack we used to hold everything in the kit. simple, easy to tuck away for storage, easy to move from place to place.
okay, i have awoken up from my post-ketamine infusion slumber!
the infusion itself was pretty basic - arrived at the doc’s, got set up in a comfy chair after paying, he had to stick me twice to get the IV set

alright, let’s do a #mortuaryreport: did you know there’s a difference between a coffin & a casket? if it’s got six sides & is broad around the shoulders, it’s a coffin. if it’s rectangular & has four sides, it’s a casket. yes, coffins still exist & are in use. now you know! 💫
(my tattoo is a coffin)

i am doubled over in pain. i have lost two hours. my insides ache. i push my fist against my skin, leaning into myself, trying not to hurt. i breath carefully. it hurts still.
i have one dose left to take today. i get two, even thought that leaves me with 18 to 20 hours without pain relief. i must choose judiciously. i am saving it.

thank you everyone for your help with my medications today. just went out to run some errands. as i was getting out of my car, a woman introduced herself - tasha - and explained that she was homeless and her tent had been ripped to shreds last night
it’s bad out here in the bay; the cost of living is so high that so many people simply can’t afford it. the affluence that technology brings is usually right next to huge sprawling cities of tents and campers

my dominant hand is completely numb from an injection, but i just called my representative to oppose HR 620 - the ADA reform act of 2017
.@JudgeTedPoe introduced the bill, which aims to place to burden of accessibility on disabled humans instead of businesses
