In 2023 51% of Poles sympathised Ukrainians, 17% - don't.
In 2024 - 40% -30%
In 2025 - 30% - 38%

Thanks to the russian bots and the Polish rightwing (even not only far right).

In 2022 20-30% heard something about Volyn. In 2025 - miraculously 80%.

Main reasons 1/ are social and economic.

- Myth that Ukrainians are taking over jobs (thou the unemployment is very low and there are tons of work)

- Real issue - raise of rent costs.

1/ I haven't recognised my neighbour when she called me.

An elderly lady, I remember her as a beautiful woman in her middle age, but she got elderly last years.

Yet when she called me, I could not recognise her. I was standing, smiling, answering questions about my family and 2/ frantically trying to guess: who that lady with some familiar features was. Yesterday Olena Pekh was swapped.
She was a scholar working in the Gorlivka Art Museum (the part of Donbas occupied since 2014). She left but had to return to her ill mother when she was arrested, detained, and "convicted" for over 13 years. She was 6 years in captivity 1/

and a torture survivor. They electrocuted her, beat, she suffers from epilepsy, they didn't pay attention to it during the tortures.
She slit her veins with an iron nail, after what they had to stop tortures but got her to sign the admission of guilt. 2/
