CVT transmission. Workings. Advantages. Issues.

CVT means Continuously Variable transmission, since gear ratios can be varied continuously and in infinitely small steps as opposed to conventional gearboxes which have 3/4/5/6 ratios (steps)

Advantages:

Compact
Lighter
Smoother
More fuel efficient
as compared to other GBs. Best suited for light cars, light loads and city driving
