Use logical arguments and factual evidence to show that a request or proposal is possible and in a person's best interest.

Vince Lombardi is one of the great coaches in NFL History.

He led The Green Bay Packers to 5 Championships in 7 years. !!

But they were an awful 1-10 the year before he took over.

This is what he did to create a winning culture: Before Lombardi arrived, the Packers had nothing going for them.

- They didn't work hard in practice
- They didn't mind losing
- No winning seasons in 11 years

In his first year with the team they had a winning season and he was named NFL Coach of the Year.

As a leader, dealing with fire drills is part of your job.

Your goal is not to deal with the same fire drill twice.

Use this system to stop repeat fire drills: 1. Name the Fire

First, on the list, make sure it is clear what happened.

- Misinformation posted on the website
- Email blast sent out to the wrong email list
- The machine broke and stopped production
- Client complained about misinformation

Leadership changes are happening at all levels of struggling tech companies right now.

Turning things around while you are inside a sinking ship is difficult but not impossible.

If I was taking over a struggling company today, here is what I'd do: I'd get on stage and share the hard truths of the situation.

No fluff. Extreme vulnerability.

People will believe in a leader before they will believe in a vision. And change won't happen without the support of the people.

Moments before meeting with community leaders at his church, Martin Luther King, Jr. was nervous.

He didn't know how many of the community leaders would respond to the call for a boycott.

What would happen if the community was not there to respond? Segregation laws required black passengers to sit at the back of the bus, even if there were no white passengers filling the seats up front.
