The reason 322 MPs voted against feeding children was not about the money. The Tory government has splurged billions on wasted Covid-19 contracts for their mates' businesses and are sending Britain into a Brexit economic hole.
Their vote today was an ideological decision.
The 322 MPs objected to being seen to compromise. They object to giving any inch; they object to any appearance of changing their minds. They think such consistency of cruelty is a sign of strength; it isn't. It's a sign of cowardice and weakness.
