As we near the one-year anniversary of Russia’s terroristic invasion of Ukraine, here’s what I wrote for a newspaper in January, 2020, more than two years before the invasion:

“In 2004, I represented COMSUBGRU EIGHT, a U.S. overseas flag command, at the BALTOPS exercise 1/ planning conference in Norfolk, Virginia, home of our country’s largest naval base. Among the audience was a cadre of Russian Federation officers, as Russia would be a participant in the exercise. What I presented caused somewhat of a stir: I suggested exploring the feasibility 2

Here is an email I sent to various disability groups (could be for groups representing any vulnerable class): “I have been surprised, unpleasantly, that the disability organizations community, including @AAPD and others, has not (to my knowledge, over my time helping persons safely evac AFG) helped raise funds for and financed an express charter flight for disabled & otherwise medically challenged AFG persons threatened by Taliban.

- Supporting post U.S withdrawal evacuations is not contrary to policy of U.S., as USG is now cooperating with various

If you know of someone who is stranded in Afghanistan (American Citizen, Green Card Holder, Afghan Interpreter, or Families) and they have not been helped, DM me. We are in direct comms with those in Afghanistan conducting evac ops.

Thanks! Update: thus far through this Twitter outreach, we have 174 persons on list, with varying prioritization: 2 U.S. citizens, 10 U.S. LPR, 21 SIV, and 141 Special Humanitarian Cases. List will be sent to an on-ground evac team for review/verification. Open to further requests.

While Trump’s derogatory comments towards veterans have the blood boiling, I’d like to address what is - despite Trump’s repugnance - a common, seldom spoken thought among too many of the so-called “elite”, including those who support veterans: that military service is merely a regretful backup to more remunerative and fulfilling occupations. (Analogously, the same has been said of teachers, without whom we would have no economic prosperity, democracy, or civil peace.)

While acknowledging that many lower-income kids with scant opportunity before

Here were my (longish) comments to a Republican who thought I was anti-business:

"I appreciate your comments, and here are mine: I'm not just a military veteran 4x deployed and Montana teacher in an underserved community. I've been in the business sector for over a decade and understand those in the business world. I also have a Master in Business Administration, where I studied Economics, from the London Business School, arguably the world's top business school. Though a 4th generation Montanan, I've traveled to over 60 countries and

Thank you @billingsgazette for publishing my Op-Ed on Food Insecurity and the Trump/Daines/Gianforte/GOP announced cuts in SNAP (food assistance) between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are one those Montana Democrats who has told me that Daines is a "nice guy", I encourage @billingsgazette you to read this Op-Ed. Unequivocally, Daines is the most morally bankrupt U.S. Senator from Montana in our lifetime, and must be beaten. Hence, my candidacy. #mtpol #stevedaines #jontester #stevebullock

I’m a proud lifelong Montana Democrat.

What would @SteveDaines call himself? A Republican?

Words matter a great deal, and the word Republican carries weight and gravitas in our nation and around the world. It represents, in large part, the public lands contributions of Theodore @SteveDaines Roosevelt, the bravery - as a WWII general and supporter of tax fairness - of Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the lack of acquiescence towards foreign tyranny - specifically, the USSR - of Ronald Reagan.

None of these prominent Republicans in American history, I’m convinced, would

People really appreciate it when I’m straightforward about U.S. Senator Daines’ tragic record. Now, I’m going to apply a bit of scrutiny to ourselves, as Democrats, this 2020 US Senate primary election season. Because we have a real opportunity to beat Senator Daines, contribute to flipping the US Senate, and repair and rebuild our nation, if we so choose.

I. 1 of every 10 Montanans is a veteran.

Should I be fortunate enough to win the MT Democratic primary on 02 June 2020, it will mark the first time in many decades that Montanans in a general
