You are missing the point.
Elites are the top talent, wealthy & influential people etc. in any society/nation & they are largely in charge of your country's future given their reach and capabilities;politics, economy & even social. No hard work will save you from faulty guidance Why in every nation the elites take an almost paternalistic role in running of things and in certain instances, (Asia) imperious paternalism is in play. How they made their money is irrelevant for the most part but how they use their influence & resources is what is in question
