Why does the PYLUSD Board of Trustees want to silence parents and educators?
On March 14th, the novel Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood was recommended to the board by the district wide Literature Review Committee. Image THE BOARD WANTS THE POWER TO STOP THE PROCESS BEFORE IT STARTS.
They want to eliminate a “process that involves the community, parent/guardians, students, and staff” as stated in Board Bylaw 9000, adopted on 12/14/21, so they can push their PERSONAL BELIEFS.

How is @pylusd supposed to implement the State mandated Ethnic Studies course if the board bans the @CADeptEd's framework for that curriculum? Last night, during the study session the board's draft to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory used the definition of CRT from the State's model curriculum for Ethnic Studies.

Here is our understanding of tonight's meeting and where we stand with the CRT Ban A few changes were made. Most notably, removal of the six bullet points that were replaced with another definition. We can not confirm the text of that new definition.

Another look at the risk to AP designation if the CRT Ban passes from the @ocregister @roxanakopetman
ocregister.com/2022/03/22/a-p… Let's review what CRT is, in light of the fact that proponents of these bans think ANYTHING that mentions race or equity is CRT
