NWMI condemns the recent ‘coverage’ by @ThanthiTV , @polimernews & @NewsTamilTV24x7 of an incident at Big Bull Lounge, Chennai.
The incident was misreported & women at the bar were sexually harassed, shamed & hounded by camerapersons of the news outlets. nwmindia.org/statements/nwm…
The reports aired focused largely on shaming the women for their attire and for drinking.
The onus for this lies with the respective editors-in-chief of the three media outlets who have allowed, if not encouraged, lewd and sexualised reportage on their channels.
