As #AlexJonesReturns maybe helpful to revisit why he was booted from this and many other platforms in 2018. Even YouPorn banned him. I'll use 🎁links for @nytimes articles so all can read. 🧵

Good morning 🎃from sunny Waterbury, CT & the Alex Jones/Sandy Hook damages trial. Full courtroom this morning for closing statements. After jury instrux, we wait--for a verdict on how much 💵Jones must pay 8 victims' families for the pain caused by his lies about the shooting.
I am sitting in a row filled with the families' Newtown neighbors & supporters. All the families are here + Bill Aldenberg, the FBI agent in the case, plus lawyers' families. BIG day.

Good morning from 🌧️Waterbury, CT for the Alex Jones /Sandy Hook damages trial. Rain and at least one big❄️today: defendant packed up his entourage and fled on a private jet. So not looking likely he'll testify or yell on the courthouse steps today, which we wouldn't cover anyway
Pattis, Jones' lawyer wants to instruct the jury that Jones is "chosen to boycott" the trial bc, in essence, he can't say what he wants bc it's against the rules. Judge not having any of that, rightly saying she can't address his thought process.

Jones’s lawyer Norm Pattis has very few Qs for these families in court. Like Jones, he has preferred (for years) to do his talking outside the courtroom.
Jury is back. Was laughing in elevator w colleagues at Jones now promising "breaking news!" to get reporters to show up outside. No tnx & no breaking news. Jury watching Jones Sandy Hook videos.

Good morning ☀️ from the Alex Jones damages trial in Connecticut. The jury is seated and Robbie Parker has returned to the stand. Yesterday was heartbreaking; the Parkers, personally targeted by Jones, a key to this case.
Robbie Parker is recalling he and Alissa flying back from Emilie's funeral, and seeing Alex Jones for the first time, on the in-flight TV, where he was on CNN, giving a (wild) interview with Piers Morgan.

Jones is hobbled by any public forum that he doesn't control. He is forever on transmit, and never on receive.
And again--this isn't about free speech. It's already been adjudicated that Jones defamed the Sandy Hook families who sued him. He lost FOUR defamation lawsuits. Again quoting the families' Texas lawyers: Speech is free. Lies, you pay for.

Morning 🌞 from Alex Jones' Sandy Hook damages trial in CT! Tough day for the Infowars fabulist, who last night had his bankruptcy claim gutted by a judge over a "lack of candor" & Jones' paying $80k for "security" here. Will he testify today? More soon...nytimes.com/2022/09/20/us/…
The bankruptcy ruling was a major setback for Jones. Judge removed two of his top restructuring officials, strengthened independent oversight, and ordered that "insider relationships" and suspect spending by Jones be investigated.
BREAKING: BIG setback for Alex Jones in his bankruptcy case--federal bk Judge Christopher Lopez in Houston has tossed out both Jones's lawyer AND his chief restructuring officer. Judge cites transparency issues, incl personal expenses by Jones...
One example: Jones spent $80k on "security" for his trip to CT for his Sandy Hook damages trial, where he is right now. "I don't like where we are today," Judge Lopez says. But it's the right decision under the law.

New thread, we're back from lunch at Alex Jones damages trial v 8 Sandy Hook victims' families in Waterbury, CT. Clint Watts, online counter-terror expert, is still on the stand.
Lawyer for the families plays Infowars lead-in to the show. Watts says the use of war imagery and words is "incitement," and the video is "highly effective in terms of content production."

Here in Waterbury for Alex Jones/Sandy Hook trial—Jones is outside the courthouse holding forth for the cameras. He’s apparently reluctant to come inside, where there are three rows of Sandy Hook families in the gallery waiting to hold him to account.
It's as yet unclear whether Jones will testify today. Right now the Infowars corporate rep, Brittany Paz, is again on the stand. During her testimony last week lawyers for the families established that Infowars' traffic/sales surged when he spread Sandy Hook lies.
