The Fates of every Marshal of the Empire that served under Napoleon Bonaparte.

This will not be a deep dive but instead a taste to encourage you to research their lives further. Let this thread also serve as a lesson to everyone of where fate can take you. Will update over time Image We will start with Marshal Michel Ney, who died on this day, 7 December 1815.

Happy birthday! Joyeux anniversaire to the Emperor of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte, who was born this day 255 years ago.

In his honor, this thread with go over various fun facts about the Emperor. Image Favorite food:
Napoleon was a rather simple eater. Preferring quick meals of a good soup, boiled beef (or other simple meats like roast mutton), vegetables and lentils, cheese, potatoes (prepared any way), etc.
However his favorite dish is one that was renamed in his honor. Image

In honor of the death of Napoleon. A thread of Napoleon's quotes/comments on each of his Marshals Image Marshal Charles-Pierre Augereau (1757-1816) (Duke of Castiglione)
After 1814: "It is a long time since the Marshal was truly a solder... The conqueror of Castiglione could have left a cherished name to France but she will recall only the deserter of Lyons." Image

One of the events that truly radicalized me was not only watching it burn but seeing who was celebrating this and that is was being labeled as an “accident” Today is the anniversary of a black day for every Frenchman Image

Napoleon movie review thread 🧵: Napoleon by Ridley Scott Image Part 1: the Good
(Before we get into my thoughts, and it’s not all of them, let’s start with what I thought was at least passable)
Though many of the choices for supporting and minor cast were questionable, I can’t deny that they did a good job with the role they were given.

Why Liberalism and the Left hate Napoleon thread

A summary thread 🧵to help explain the hate for Napoleon I outside of British propaganda. Firstly we must ask ourselves who are the principal groups that hate Napoleon?

They fall into a few camps:
The Conservatives
The Liberalists
The Marxists

Today we will cover the Liberalists and Marxists as conservatives are the most likely to hate Napoleon for actions of the Revolution or British propaganda.

A collection of some of the proposals for a Jewish state. A short thread 🧵 Ararat City
Founded in 1825 as “a city of refuge for the Jews”. Established by New York politician Mordecai Manuel Noah on a 70 sq km (27 sq mi) plot of land he bought near Buffalo, NY. It failed to attract many people and Mordecai began advocating for a Jewish state in Israel. Image

Japan isn't allowed to have its own people represented in video games without the insertion of Afrocentrism according to Western game devs Why should a single non-Japanese figure (who also wasn't an assassin) in Japanese feudal history justify excluding the player from playing someone of Japanese descent and culture?

The Bonapartist Thread 🧵

A series of tweets to help explain the ideology of Bonapartism and my own personal take on it. Image To start, what are the basics of Bonapartism?

Bonapartism emerged after the fall of Napoleon as an ideology advocating for the restoration of the French Empire under the House of Bonaparte. Napoleon was the main unifier of the movement so it didn’t develop a strong 1/X Image

The proto-Indo-European (PIE) migrations were perhaps the most consequential event in human history because of the lasting effects it had on the very fiber of the human populations it affected. The PIE migrations are the reason some want to travel to space and others do not. ImageImageImageImage The PIE people were herder and warrior cultures originating from the plains north of the Caucuses. They ate a lot of meat and drank a lot of milk that (combined with their mythology) made them terrifying in combat even when not on horseback or in chariots. ImageImageImageImage

I am once again telling conservatives that a Pro-Life campaign ad that pulls at heart strings will be a good one.
Women through pregnancy and ending with a child being born with a heartbeat through the whole thing and saying Dems want to end this child’s heartbeat and make sure.. Their voice can never be heard.

A woman being surrounded by kids and a loving husband at dinner and she wakes up alone. Label Dems as wanting more women to end up without family and alone.

An ad where a man pressures his girlfriend to get an abortion she doesn’t. Dems cause it.
