Former US Ambassador to Israel Jacob Lew would like to be credited for "the efforts we led in the Biden administration to keep Gaza open for humanitarian relief," in stark contrast to the failures of the Trump administration. Did Biden ensure more food got to starving Gazans? 🧵
According to the @WFP: "Just to cover basic humanitarian food assistance needs, more than 62,000 MT is required every month." This figure (about 1kg per person per day) is in fact far less than Israel itself calculated was required to prevent Gaza starvation in 2008 (1.8kg PPD).
