The Election Commission (ECI) depends on a 4 member Technical Expert Committee (TEC) to certify that EVMs are secure, address concerns of tampering & offer technical expertise.
However, according to the independent experts, the TEC isn’t a truly independent expert body.

The 4 members of TEC are Rajat Moona, Dinesh Sharma, DT Shahani & AK Agarwala. Out of 12 individuals named as the inventors in the VVPAT patent filed by the BEL, 4 out of those are TEC members. So technically the TEC certify & defends the same technology they invented.

In October, Narendra Modi met Pope Francis & invited him to India, the country with the 2nd largest Christian population in Asia. 2 weeks before that, Mohan Bhagwat delivered his annual Dussehra Speech. 1/n
In it, he warned Hindus about religious conversions & alleged “demographic changes” in northeast states, a clear reference to the Christain population. This was supplemented with increased violence on Christians across India in recent months. 2/n
