We read thousands of essays this year to prepare this thread, the cream of the crop of New Right journalism, storytelling and schizophrenic ranting. Scroll to the bottom for links.

These are the 📰Top 10 Based Reads of 2025📰.

1. The Shame of Our Cities — @ArminRosen for @countyhwy

Chris Rufo and Ryan Thorpe’s City Journal reporting on Somalian welfare fraud in Minnesota ended up triggering NYT coverage and a fiery Trump reaction. But, it turns out, Armin Rosen wrote an earlier, much deeper report on the fraud, which was published a week prior in County Highway. Walter was a little understandably miffed about his writer and publication not getting credit for breaking the story.

The important thing is that the story is out there now. Rosen’s coverage is the far more beautifully-written piece, and one that gets to the heart of the painful cultural incompatibilities resulting from mass immigration.

"In the Western imagination, civic trust is something both natural and infinite — the product of a virtuous feedback loop, with acts in service of the common good creating bonds of cooperation and interdependence that produce additional acts in kind. Minnesota is so trusting that there are no turnstiles to enter the Twin Cities light rail, which now has prominently posted codes of conduct that gently remind riders that it is illegal to poop on the trains or in the stations. Somalis — like the vast majority of people on earth, who do not live in prosperous or stable democracies — tend to have the hard-earned attitude that trust is a limited commodity, something to be jealously guarded and reserved only for the tiny sliver of the human race with whom they share some organic, non-externally constructed bond. Compared to the clan, or Somali culture, or Islam, the state is something meaningless or temporary, or at best instrumentally useful."Image 2. The Lost Generation — Jacob Savage for Compact

Was there any question? Every few months an essay lights the dissident sphere on fire, and this time it was Jacob Savage’s lament in Compact for the white men who were systematically pushed out of high-status careers across the woke era. This one hit home for creative millennials who watched it happen but were petrified to say anything for fear of total career annihilation. With a nod from JD, expect it to dominate the discourse well into 2026.

Most of the men I interviewed started out as liberals. Some still are. But to feel the weight of society’s disfavor can be disorienting. We millennials were true believers in race and gender-blind meritocracy, which for all its faults—its naïveté about human nature, its optimism in the American Dream—was far superior to what replaced it. And to see that vision so spectacularly betrayed has engendered a skepticism toward the entire liberal project that won’t soon disappear.Image

It's ✨The 30 Most Powerful Memes of 2025✨

The NRP's definitive list of the funniest and hardest-hitting memes, the culmination of a year of relentless poasting, our attempt to contextualize what 2025 meant to the New Right.

Let's gooooooo🧵🧵🧵 Image 30. You can just make up black history

We saw a proliferation of bogus black history claims this year. Did you know “Jingle Bells” were devices slave owners shackled to their slaves to prevent them escaping the plantation? Or that the Tulsa Massacre happened? AI makes it even easier for hoteps and other melanated engagement farmers to “just be saying whatever” with unprecedented plausibility. Some of our guys had a little fun this year making up their own fake black history.Image

They don’t understand you. You’re not an evil hatemonger. You’re not a stochastic terrorist. You’re just misunderstood who likes to read esoteric books about history and politics. If anything, you just love too much, and too hard. Like Ryan Gosling in that one movie. He’s literally you. A sensitive young man.Image

If you have young kids you know how hard this "found family" stuff is pushed. Really seductive idea for any kid, let alone ones in troubled circumstances, that they really belong in a Benetton ad where family is always smiling and accepting, realer than blood.
🧵(1/7) Image 90s PBS said "family comes in all shapes and sizes." I was smart enough even then to understand that this was propaganda normalizing ghetto dysfunction. The black kids in my neighborhood had addict moms and dads in jail. So duh, "black grandmama with grandkids is a family." Image

I attended a Harry Potter wedding a few years back. Potter cocktails, Potter table decor, Potter photobooth. Dumbledore quote in the program. 🧵 Image Apparently, Potter weddings are happening all the time. This sort of thing is everywhere. Lightsaber duels instead of a first dance. Rapped vows. Image

The Redditor is a self-loathing ex-gifted kid who indulges in childish consumption rather than face the duties and uncertainties of adulthood. He thumbs his nose at traditional authority, and makes that bratty rebelliousness his whole personality. 🧵 Redditism is not just an aesthetic or a collection of fandoms, it’s an ideology, one that has been taken up and instrumentalized by the global elite against everything good. It animates a global death cult that wants you dead first. It’s the end of the line. Image

The Rise of the Right-Wing Progressives (N.S. Lyons)
Marc Andreessen wrote a Techno-optimist Manifesto, and the tech media commies, who have no capability of critiquing something that they can’t put in the “right wing fascist” bucket, immediately called it right wing, and fascist. But it ain’t. N.S. Lyons provides clarity, introducing the “Right Wing Progressive,” a creature that wants to leverage state capacity to pursue progress at all costs.Image The True Nature of the Culture War — @_kruptos

Kruptos explores why the culture war actually matters. The sex and gender stuff is not a sideshow, it’s the main event.Image

The 40 Most Powerful Memes of 2024: New Right Edition

40. Concubines
The guy who murked Bin Laden, @mchooyah, made us all do the whiteguyblinking.gif when he told neotenous zoomer libs that in a sane society, he'd have them as his sex slaves. The most unexpected tweet of the year.Image 39. Peanut the Squirrel
When the nanny state found it within their purview to take out this fuzzy lil’ guy who wudn’t hurtin’ nobody, it reminded us that they’ll sooner let you get burned alive on the subway by an illegal schizoid than let you have a no-no animal as a pet.Image

You know factory meat production is demonic. Wretched creatures living in constant suffering. You know eating sick, poisoned animals is making you sick and poisoned.

You must eat better meat. You must become a Meat Freezer Bro. 🧵 Image You want beef that's:
-100% pasture raised
-Grass-fed, grass-finished
-No glyphosate/GMOs in supplemental hay
-No hormones/antibiotics

“Organic” meat at grocery stores is not as clean as you think. You want to Know Your Rancher.Image

About 20m ago, I tweeted:

"If a white person _______ a black toddler to _____ and then made this face at the mourners, there would be a fiery riot in every major American city that night."

The tweet quickly racked up 500+ likes and then vanished into thin air. This has never happened to me. No notification, no email from Twitter explaining why it was taken down. Nothing. Just says "This post was deleted by its author."

I did not delete the post. WTF.Image I literally got up to grab a snack, came back to my desk, saw the 500 notifications, and then realized the tweet was gone. @elonmusk if this violated ToS I'd be annoyed but this is just bizarre. Image

The Dad Index 🧵

It can be difficult to parse the contradictions and shifting alliances inherent to leftism, but once you understand that leftism is simply "hating dad," it becomes clear.

Leftists ask themselves, who is the most "dad" in a given conflict, and oppose that. Image Usually, Jews are considered lower on the Dad Index. An oppressed minority. An eternal victim of hate and oppression. But this is only in comparison to non-Jewish whites. In comparison with downtrodden brown Palestinians, Jews are dad. And you gotta hate dad.
